MISSION STATEMENT

“A piece of paper is plain and dimensionless. By carefully following a series of precise folds, that piece of paper transforms into a three-dimensional work of art and craftsmanship. The finished product reveals itself as more than just art, but as a physical manifestation of the creator’s self-expression and individuality. Once known as ORISUE, this craft is now commonly known as origami.

ORISUE applies this methodology into a similar, yet unique medium of expression—clothing. Similar to paper, fabric is plain until it is birthed with design, color, and stitching. Once these features are meticulously applied to the fabric, the fabric takes life becoming its own—revealing the creator’s lifestyle and individualism.

Rather than confining itself to any one facet of life, ORISUE is inspired by life’s many positive elements—the expression of affection, hard work, perseverance through adversity, and struggle. While ORISUE reflects its creators, it strives to embrace and represent the diverse lifestyle of individuals who make life interesting for all of us.

ORISUE is for those individuals who are driven by their passion and strive towards excellence—for that kid skating day and night, that DJ mixing at 3 in the morning, or anyone else committed to success and dedicated to becoming the best. ORISUE represents those special individuals, and in turn, their excellence represents Orisue.

Company History

In late 2005, Michael Huynh (Founder/Creative Director) committed himself to one of his long-time dreams. What followed was the inception of ORISUE – an independent apparel company inspired by the youth’s many subcultures such as hip-hop, skate, and art. Focusing solely on ORISUE’s creative direction, Michael partnered with long-time friend and entrepreneur, Allen Doan (President), to make ORISUE a reality.

In January 2006, ORISUE prepared for its premier release, Summer 2006, featuring only a dozen T-shirts and two crew sweaters. Utilizing the internet, Orisue introduced Summer 2006 on many of the world’s most prestigious street-fashion websites. Its refreshing designs created a buzz and received a strong response from the sites’ readers. Taking advantage of the exposure, ORISUE released Summer 2006 to several stores, all having success with the line.

Since ORISUE’s emergence, it has dramatically grown into exactly what Michael and Allen dreamt it would become and continue to exceeded those expectations.'

DJ Lord Finesse kills it

DJ Selecta helping with the mic

Time Bomb and 720 Records got together for a very special Classic Material on Feb 20. It was the Big L, J Dilla and Big Pun remembrance party. Local favorites Selecta, SMI and Shef came threw to show their respects and we also had a very surprising and great performance from the X Clan!! We brought DJ Lord Finesse (DITC) from New York to do his thing. HE KILLED IT. I say that this is the best party we've done yet!! I mean the vibe was crazy, the crowd was one! Boot Prints had the limited edition tee's (made by Joe Boots, Katie Maillis and Jewels Despines) and the crowd ate them up. I can't wait to see what we do next! Keep your ear to the street and we will be in touch.

Hell ya they're limited edition! Joe Boots, Jewels and myself each did a limited edition tee for our Big L, J Dilla and Big Pun tribute featuring DJ Lord Finesse. Joe Boots did Big L, Jewels did Big Pun and I did J Dilla (he changed my life). We did 20 prints of each shirtThey were a huge success minus the couple spilt drinks- BIGUPS TO BOOT PRINTS!! Wouldn't have been able to do it without you guys !!!

Our Dude Mac Goin A Lil' Harder with Nyc Jet Relle Revis

One of Pittsburgh's most promising rappers, Mac Miller, just left the studio with Jets pro-bowl cornerback Darrelle Revis. Seeing Mac's potential, Revis (aka Mr. Manhattan) reached out to the 18 year-old MC in a big way as the two put together a fun song for everybody to rock with as they go out this weekend.
