Tony Touch Return Of The Boom Bap Vol. 1

To make up for his missed appearance in June Dj Tony Touch came to Pittsburgh for The Return of BoomBap Vol. 1 featuring Varsity Squad, The 58s and Boaz.  The day started with a meet and greet with Toca at Timebomb.  It was a low-key event but a lot of people stopped through to meet Tony and to hear DJ Vex spin some classic hip-hop.  After the M&G we moved the party down to Shadow Lounge where Varsity Squad (Jon Quest and Beedie) got the festivities started.  The energy between the two emcee's is unmatched.  Jon and Beedie has a chemistry that you don't see often.  One of my favorite parts of their sets is how much DJ Drastik uses his mic to add to the hype.  Both Jon and Beedie do a great job of hyping for each other and creating an atmosphere that would draw the most reserved person in the house to the front of the stage screaming and waving their arms.  Following VS was B White, Mayo, Vinny Radio, Franchise and Ghosty of the 58s.  The crowd had the opportunity  to hear a new song from B White titled "The Money" which has most of us very excited for his upcoming mixtape dropping on August 25th.  Mayo played an excellent part of getting the crowd involved by venturing into the crowd and really getting them involved.  DJ Tom Dug added some ill cuts that added to the superb performance the rest of The 58s put on.  Boaz took the stage afterwards with his GOV brotherern S. Money for his set.  His presence on stage is unmatched.  He can take a crowd from completely hyped in stuck in awe by his powerful "Wise beyond age" lyrics.  After the local Emcee's were done killing shit Tony Touch took to the tables and spun a killer set of classic hip-hop mixed with almost every other type of sound you could want.  Through out the night hosts, Dos Noun and BZE, kept the crowd from not going anywhere by kickin ill freestyles and witty humor that the two are know for.  The night was a great success, thank you for everyone who came out and supported along with the artist and of course Tony Touch.  We would also like to thank Hank D for putting on an awesome set and help organizing the event.

TBC was out in full force

First off I wanna thank everyone for coming out and supporting the whole TBC movement. June 15th 2011 was a day for the record books! The party kicked off in store with the launch of our TimeBomb Summer Clothing Collection. For the event we got Jasmine Solano (NYC) to spin in store while people bought TBC gear and drank for free thanks to Iron City Beer, Clique Vodka, Vitamin Water and Red Bull. Sadly at the end of the in store we got word that Tony Touch missed his flight from NYC to Pittsburgh.. we were disappointed but luckily still had Jasmine, House Shoes, Hank D and Vex to rock the after party.
As the night moved to Shadow Lounge people really got into the spirit of the event dancing and drinking the night away. Hank D kicked off the party getting everyone of the floor and prepped them for Jasmines second performance of the day. She KILLED it in true Jasmine Solano fashion. Check out the photos above and you can get a feel of how the night went. Last but not least House Shoes closed off the night in Shadow Lounge doing his thing. You can catch him once a month at AVA for ready or not fridays with Vex. We couldn't have asked for much more out of the night. Also wanna send a special shout out to Tevin (@Tevin412) for getting photos throughout the day and night. If you were upset about Tony Touch then fear not because we are bringing him in July to make up for his missed performance. Keep checking back to keep up on everything TimeBomb!

TONY TOUCH, an icon in Hip-Hop and in the Urban Hispanic genre plus seasoned player in the game, is a true innovator and has revolutionized the DJ game over and over. From his legendary mixtapes, to his skills on the 1’s and 2’s, to becoming Hip-Hop’s most recognized DJ. This C.E.O/Artist/ Producer, is now currently working on his eighth commercial release titled "The PieceMaker 3 ...The Return of the 50 Mc's" and is expected to make history once again.

Tony Touch began as a B-boy during the rap music renaissance era of the early 80’s. Heavily influenced by pioneers like Crazy Legs and the Rocksteady Crew, Grandmaster Flash, Red Alert,Little Louie Vega and Jam Master Jay, he quickly shifted his interests towards the turntables. Toca is known for legendary mixtapes like the 50 Mc's parts 1, 2 and 3. Included in this series are some of the hottest artist in the game such as KRS One, Kool G Rap, Big Daddy Kane, Wyclef, M.O.P, Big L, Mos Def and many more all coming together for one collective piece. This along with the countless other mixtapes, Tony became recognized in the streets and by the industry as the real ‘Mixtape King.’

Tony Toca evolved his mixtape's to record releases. In 2000, Tony released “The Piece Maker” on Tommy Boy Records. This album sold 400,000 units worldwide and featured legendary artists like Big Pun, Cypress Hill, Wu-Tang Clan, Busta Rhymes, Eminem, Gang Starr and much more. The single “I Wonder Why” featuring Total was a hit and the video featured cameos from John Leguizamo, Rock Steady Crew, Grand Master Flash,The Awesome 2, Marley Marl, Dj Premier and more. Since then Tony Toca released “The Piece Maker 2”which also had an all-star line up with features such as P. Diddy, Fat Joe, Sean Paul, Snoop Dogg and legendary Ruben Blades. Toca is also known to represent the urban Latino community to the fullest with his Spanglish lyrics and Salsa roots. It is the result of growing up with Salsa at home and Hip- Hop influence in his lifestyle. in 2005 Tony inked a deal with EMI records and revolutionized the game once again with his Reggaeton album, ReggaeTony. The hit single “Play That Song,” featured Nina Sky and B-real of Cypress Hill. This cd had an All-Star line up such as Tego Calderon, Zion and Lenox, Pitbull, Ivy Queen, NORE, , Voltio, Mexicano, Thirston Howl III and Soni just to name a few. The album went GOLD and with that success, EMI moved quickly to release 'ReggaeTony 2'. This cd featured more heavyweights including Lumidee, Plan B, Joell Ortiz, Tru Life, Don Chezina and the Beatnuts. To this date Tony has sold over a million records worldwide.

Touch continues to be in demand globally. The proof is in the passport as he has toured over 30 countries including Japan, Australia, Puerto Rico, London, France, Greece, Russia, Brazil, Germany, Columbia, Switzerland, Italy and Cuba…..just to name a few. He’s also acted as tour dj for acts like Cypress Hill, Gurus’s Jazzmatazz, Rock Steady and the Beatnuts. You also may have caught Tony on TV shows such as“Saturday Night Live” and “The Dave Chapelle Show” spinning for Eminem. Don’t forget the radio waves you might have heard him on in New York such as Hot 97, Power 105, and WBLS. In 2004, Eminem and manager Paul Rosenberg closed a deal for their own radio station on Sirius Satellite called Shade 45. Tony Touch was quickly recruited to host TOCA TUESDAYS (every tuesday night) from 8pm to Midnight E.S.T....and to this day can be heard LIVE all over the world.
