Varsity Squad presents ' Mad Science '

With a new name and the same consist talent, 3 Pittsburgh artists have joined parties and formed 'Varsity Squad' to bring the 412 some of the hottest. Beedie, Jon Quest, and producer Shade Cobain linked up and bringing their own unique sound, forming a fusion of old school hip hop and new school attitude. 'Mad Science' is the first single from their debut album which you can listen to HERE, and be sure to keep up with them by checking their show on Sept 3oth, at Pac Div at the Shadow Lounge.

If you were walking down South Highland Ave on September 11 between 6pm-9pm you may have asked yourself.. WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON!? Well that would have been the 2nd Annual Time Bomb Street Art Fair. Attracting well over 300 people this years show was a HUGE success. We wanted to first and foremost thank all of the 29 artists that showed their work, Arlo for curating the show, DJ Hank D for rocking the party all night and of course CLIQUE vodka for good look! Between the magical bar tending skills of the beautiful Brook to BZE/Varsity Squad performance the night couldn't have went much better. Even Blasfome a popular Pittsburgh clothing brand (best known for its Somalia Pirates shirt) had it's Fall 10 drop that night in store. To top off the already awesome event we had some of Pittsburgh's favorite hip hop talent in and out the whole evening. If you missed out you can still checkout/buy the art HERE. As the newest member of Wiz Khalifa's Taylor Gang Tolly is making a name for himself in the streets of Pittsburgh and beyond. After the success of his video for the single "Bands" off his debut mixtape Underrated, Tolly is back at work on his 2nd tape which is yet to be titled. Mac Miller from NYC back to the BURGH

Anyone that follows Pittsburgh hip hop knows that Wiz Khalifa paved the way to the industry. With this road now set we have Mac Miller building his own path to the top. Just a few months ago Mac had his "High Life" drop at the shadow lounge around the corner from the shop. Now he is selling out SOB's in NYC and getting calls from predominant street wear companies to wear THEIR clothes. Whether in Pittsburgh at his Club Zoo concert or in NYC at SOB's Mac Miller is destined to be a star.

Timebomb Presents GRIND TIME Pittsburgh Battle

Last weekend for one of the last warm nights of the summer, we invited our homies from Grind Time to host Pittsburgh's battle for 2010. Held in the lower level of the building, with a large crowd of hip hop heads, lyrical observers, and of course the battlers up next in line, the night kicked off with the camera clicking on, the crowd holdin it down, and the host of the evening, Real Deal, a true Grind Time champion, kickin it off right. With a underground hip hop atmosphere of tagged walls, battle circuts, and lots of close wins, brought to you by the 412's top tier opponents, this was an event you did not want to miss. There wasn't one battle that was an easy decision, which I soon found out when Real asked me to judge our mans Boca, who killed it off top! Anymal battled PG Skillet, dudes from DC, which turned out to be by far the closest battle of the night. And of course who could forget Doc Waffles? Feel bad if you missed this, but keep your eye out for it on both youtube and world star, with a debut on it's way. Who else would provide the burgh with the largest hip hop battle league? TBC of course.

Our homie from Detroit Young Scolla is back again with another R&B track entitled "APART". Young Scolla came threw the store when we did the Big Sean in store and rocked it along with Mac Miller.

farESH Brand: farESH is Famous

There's a new t-shirt brand in town and it's famous! The designer is Ryan Brown and he says the name for his clothing line farESH Brand's name came from the combination of the words "far" and "fresh". The shirts are designed by himself and then taken to to crew for their opinion on the designs. Wiz returns with his first single on Rostrum/Atlantic!!! The single is entitled "Black And Yellow" and was produced by Stargate. The earlier version that leaked is not real and was a rip of Wiz's song. It was a mystery to all of us.
